Drunk Driver and Club Held Responsible for Parking Lot Death
A jury recently awarded $10.5M to the family of a 23-year-old woman who was killed when she was run over by a “monster truck” in the parking lot of a lounge. The driver was legally drunk, having been over served by the club employees, even though it was obvious he was already intoxicated. The verdict was rendered against both the driver and the club. As is often the case in tragedies like this, the victim was completely innocent of any wrongdoing or contributory actions.
Drunk driving is selfish and reckless. We strongly encourage everyone to drink responsibly. Restaurants, clubs, and bars should heed this warning and learn from others that have been charged and rendered guilty for contributing to an injury caused by drunk driving.
